SBU with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau under the procedural supervision of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office blocked a widespread corruption activities of the head of one of the departments of the State Reserve Agency.

The official organized a mechanism of illegal acquisition and sale of the State Reserve Agency property, in particular food products. For the purpose, he understated the market value of products and sold it to an affiliated commercial structures. Law enforcement officers documented facts of illegal actions on preparation for sales of goods totalling almost UAH 100 million.

The official also demanded money from subordinates, heads of the enterprises of the State Reserve Agency for holding their posts and non- creation of artificial obstacles in their work.

Extortion by the involved persons of USD 50 thousand from directors of two plants was documented. It was also found that he received USD 20 thousand for the appointment of a director of one of the state-owned enterprises.

The law enforcement officers detained official during the attempt to transfer previously received from subordinates improper advantage to the head of the State Reserve Agency, who helped investigation to expose illegal actions of the subordinate.

Currently the involved person has been served notice of suspicion under Part 4 Art. 368, Part 4 Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The investigations are ongoing.
