Poltava region: SBU blocks deals of state-owned enterprise senior managers with lands of State Property Fund
SBU blocked in Poltava region schemes of large-scale embezzlement of budget funds at the state-owned enterprise of the State Property Fund.
Officials artificially understated yield indexes on lands of the state institution of agribusiness industry. Without registration of grain in the warehouse records involved persons moved it out to the private elevators. To close the deal, the officials "forgot" to enter reliable information about the grain volume to the tax and accounting documentation.
The officials also transferred budget funds to the accounts of affiliated commercial structures for soil processing services, in particular its cultivation. But in fact, the dealers didn’t conduct any work stipulated by the concluded contracts.
During the searches law enforcement officers found physical evidence confirming the actual volume of harvested crops, as well as information on fraudulent acts of provided services.
Exposed illegal activities of officials inflicted losses to the state budget for almost UAH two million and threatened food safety of the country.
In the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the pretrial investigation is ongoing.
The operation was conducted with the National Police investigators under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Poltava region.
It should be recalled that last December the SBU disclosed large-scale deals with the lands of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences.
