SBU discovered the misappropriation of budget costs allocated for the metro construction of the Syretsko-Pecherska line to the Kyiv residential area Vynohradar.     

Within the criminal proceedings, the SBU investigators conducted searches in the "Kyiv Metropolitan” Communal Enterprise, PJSC "Kyivmetrobud” and in their structural units, JSB Ukrgasbank and its branches, as well as in the officials’ residences. During the authorized investigative actions, law enforcement seized financial documentation and electronic records, containing useful information for pre-trial investigation.    

Currently, the fact of possible misappropriation of budget funds allocated for the metro construction, including the groundless depositing on bank accounts UAH 1.7 billion, is being investigated. According to the investigation, the involved persons received UAH 139 million.        

For the prevention of further suspicious transactions with budget costs, the bank accounts of enterprises were arrested for more than UAH 2.4 billion on the basis of investigating judge’s decision.

The legal supervision in criminal proceedings is conducted by the Prosecutor’s General Office. 

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
