Lviv region: SBU detains policemen on suspicion of drug marketing organization (video)
SBU detained in Lviv region two policemen suspected of organization the drugs distribution and marketing.
According to the investigation, the deputy head of one of the district police units with his subordinate through threats and blackmail, involved previously convicted drug-addicted person in illegal activities. The mediator received drugs from the policemen and resold the "goods". After that, he provided information about buyers to the policemen, who abusing their offices, artificially increased the "results" of the work of the unit.
Law enforcement officers detained both policemen in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine, while transferring amphetamine and cannabis to the mediator. Exposed drugs are directed for examination. Currently serving notices of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being planned.
The article provides from 6 to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. Investigative actions are continuing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring to justice other persons involved in illegal activities. The operation was conducted by the SBU Office in Lviv region officers with the State Bureau of Investigations investigators under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Lviv region.
