SBU officers blocked in Zaporizzhya city the activities of the interregional drug group, whose members were engaged in the production and sale of synthetic psychotropic substances.

The organized group consisted of previously convicted for crimes related to illegal drug trafficking residents of Zaporizzhya and Dnipropetrovsk regions. They equipped drug lab on methamphetamine manufacturing in the apartment of one of the group members in Zaporizzhya. Components for the manufacture of psychotropic substances dealers ordered via the Internet, as well as on specialized sites for the sale of chemical compounds. Using the wide network of dealers, they sold finished “goods” in the territory of the southern region and also transported in Donetsk region.

According to intelligence, monthly offenders produced up to 2 kilograms of psychotropic substances amounting to UAH 2 million at shadow rates.

Law enforcement officers detained three active members of the group, including organizer of the drug business in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine on his preparing to sell the recurrent drugs consignment. During 15 simultaneous searches at residences, cars and garages of drug dealers almost 50 grams of psychotropic substance, 150 kilograms of precursors, technological equipment and chemicals, UAH 250 thousand in cash, bank cards, draft records with data on customers and drug traffic, and other evidence of the illegal activity of the group were seized.

Within the initiated criminal proceedings, the detainees were served suspicion notices. The issue of choosing the measure of restraint is being decided. The operation to detect offenders was conducted under procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Zaporizzhya region.
