The Security Service of Ukraine suspects of obtaining illegal benefits the head of one of the district courts of Rivne region and his accomplice.

Within the framework of the initiated criminal proceedings, the law enforcement officers found that the involved persons demanded UAH 20 thousand from the local resident for making judgements regarding the withdrawal of property arrest and not bringing a man to administrative responsibility.

SBU operatives documented the offender’s receiving the first part of the unlawful benefit.

During the searches at the residences and offices of involved persons the funds in national and foreign currencies, other tangible valuables, identity documents issued by a foreign state and materials of court cases were seized.

The head of the court was served a notice of suspicion of committing crimes stipulated by Part 3 Art. 368 and Part 2 Art.   369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The lawyer - under Part 5 Art. 27, Part 3 Art. 368 and Part 2 Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Currently, the motion on the choosing preventive measure for the offenders was sent to the High Anticorruption Court.

The operation was held jointly with the detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau under the procedural supervision of the Specialized anti-corruption prosecutor.
