Donetsk region: SBU exposes National Guard serviceman on arms trafficking
SBU officers involved in the operation of the Joint Forces detained in Mariupol the National Guard serviceman for sale of military destruction means.
According to the investigation, the enlisted man of one of the military units illegally bought weapons for resale. The offender stored the dangerous goods in a specially equipped cache by the sea. He searched clients among his friends.
The law enforcement officers detained a serviceman during another attempt to sale two F-1 grenades.
A hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher was also detected during searches at the place of weapons storage.
Within the framework of a criminal proceeding initiated under Part 1 Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine the offender was served suspicion notice. The issue of choosing a measure of restraint is being decided.
Investigative actions for identification of the origin sources and buyers of weapons are under way.
The operation was conducted jointly with the State Bureau of Investigationsand the Military Prosecutor's Office.
