SBU investigation helped to serve suspicion notices to the secretary and acting head of Zatoka village council of budget funds embezzlement in the especially large amounts.

According to the pre-trial investigation, official in collusion with commercial structures embezzled a part of the amount allocated for the reconstruction of treatment facilities in the village. Due to the SBU involvement, it was possible to prevent embezzlement by the scheme participants of another UAH 10 million from the state budget.

Currently, official of Zatoka village council has been served a notice of suspicion of committing a crime stipulated by Part 5 Art. 191 and Part 2 Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The measure of restraint in the form of round-the-clock house arrest was chosen.

In order to identify all circumstances of the case and to bring to responsibility other persons involved in illegal activity, the investigative actions are ongoing.

Measures to expose and block illegal actions were conducted under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Odesa region.
