SBU Main Directorate of Counter-Intelligence Protection of the State Interests in the field of Economic Security in cooperation with the State Fiscal Service under the procedural guidance of the Office of Prosecutor General blocked refund from the budget of illegally formed value added tax in the amount of UAH half a billion.

During the investigations, law enforcement officers have established that almost 100 commercial structures, registered in different regions of Ukraine were involved in the deal. Their requisites were used by organizers and participants of the so-called “transit-conversion" groups. Through these economic entities, they have provided "services" of tax and mandatory payments evasion by means of non-commodity transactions.

In the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the court imposed an arrest on the amount of illegally formed VAT valued at almost UAH 500 million in the system of electronic administration of taxpayers.

The investigations are ongoing.
