SBU exposed the head of the investigative sector of one of the district units of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region involved into receipt of improper advantage. 

According to the investigation, official demanded money from a representative of the commercial structure in the sphere of food selling. For UAH 250 thousand the policeman "guaranteed" closing of criminal proceedings, initiated for violation of sanitary rules and norms.

Law enforcement officers detained official in one of the Dnipro city streets according to Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine after receiving the entire amount of a bribe.

Currently the involved person have been served notice of suspicion under Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The investigative actions on bringing to responsibility other persons involved in the illegal activities are under way.

The operation was conducted jointly with the Central Office of the State Bureau of Investigations under the procedural supervision of the Office of Prosecutor General.
