The Security Service of Ukraine suspects officials of the municipal enterprise Kyivmisksvitlo of large-scale abuse in the procurement of goods for outdoor lighting of the capital.

According to the investigation in 2018, the management of several structural subdivisions of the municipal enterprise provided the victory in the tender for the purchase of lighting devices for the current needs of the city to close to them commercial structure. The value of the contract comprised several dozens of millions hryvnias, and a part of these funds was misappropriated.

According to the previous investigation, during the preparation of estimates, officials deliberately inflated the real market value of lamps for street lighting.

Initiated by the Service comprehensive merchandising and forensic economical examinations revealed that due to such actions the local budget suffered losses in especially big amount.

Currently five Kyivmisksvitlo officials have been served notice of suspicion under Part 2 Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The investigations are ongoing.
