The Security Service of Ukraine suspects the head of one of the city units of State Enforcement Service of the north-east Interregional Directorate of the Ministry of Justice of obtaining unlawful benefits.

According to the investigation, the state enforcement officer established a scheme for obtaining illegal benefits from local residents. He, in particular, extorted from a man UAH 4 thousand. For this amount official promised man not to commit measures of compulsory debt recovery.

Law enforcement officers detained the head of the unit in one of the district centers of Poltava region while receiving the entire amount of unlawful benefit. In the course of personal inspection of the official, money in different currency in the amount of almost 200 thousand in the hryvnia equivalent, the origin of which is established by the investigation has been detected.

In the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the official was served suspicion notice.

The operation was conducted jointly with the National Police investigators under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Poltava region.
