The Security Service of Ukraine exposed one of the heads and the chief accountant of the correctional facility of the State Criminal Executive Service in Donetsk region, involved in obtaining illegal benefit.

According to preliminary investigation, official established the mechanism of extortion money from subordinates. For different amounts of bribes, the involved persons did not create artificial obstacles to employees in their official activities and did not bring them to liability for allegedly detected disciplinary violations.

The amount of illegal benefit depended on the size of monthly bonuses, which were officially awarded to subordinates.

During the investigations at places of residence and offices of officials the law-enforcement officers seized financial and business documents, confirming the illegal activities.

Within the framework of criminal proceedings both offenders were served notices of suspicion under Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring to responsibility other people, possibly involved in illegal activity. The operation was conducted jointly with the Territorial Department of the State Investigations Bureau, located in Kramatorsk.
