SBU blocks illegal export of armor and military air forces components for USD 1 million
BU has blocked illegal export of military and dual-use goods under compulsory state export control. The operation was conducted by officers of the SBU Main Directorate of Counter-Intelligence Protection of the State’s economic interests jointly with the SBU Office in Kharkiv region.
According to the investigation, the attackers of Kharkiv commercial entities illegally imported armor components to combat aircrafts from Russia. The components were legalized by using fake documents concerning purpose of the goods and their allegedly domestic production on the territory of Ukraine. Afterwards the suspects, acting in the interests of the aggressor country, sent components to Asia under the guise of agricultural machinery and appliances.
The law enforcement seized tank stabilizer power stations, converters for fire control systems which are the tank armament stabilizer of T-72 and T-80 components, as well as electro-hydraulic valves being part of combat aircraft control system, while inspecting an illegal cargo in customs control area of Boryspil International Airport. The estimated cost of the seized military goods amounts to USD 1,000,000 (UAH 25,416,900). The issue of initiation a criminal proceeding under Art. 333 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being decided. The investigations are ongoing.
