The Security Service of Ukraine exposed large-scale misappropriation of funds at Ukrburgas SE, which is a part of Ukrgasvydobuvannya.

Allegedly, at the end of 2018, the enterprise concluded an agreement with private company on lease of construction equipment.  The amount of a contract was UAH 19,000,000 (USD 494,000,000), part of which was appropriated by members of the scheme. A director of the renter firm systematically entered false data into accounting documentation (reports of provided services contained overestimated prices). Consequently, the difference between real expenditures and data of accounts of the state enterprise was illegally cashed and misappropriated.

The forensic economical examination concludes that state-owned enterprise lost almost UAH 7,5 million (USD 195,000,000).

The criminal was served a notice of suspicion within the criminal proceeding initiated under Part 5 Art.191, Part 2 Art. 28 and Part 1 Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The facts of suspects’ involvement in illegal activities is being established.

The exposing operation was conducted jointly with the police investigators under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv region.
