Detained by SBU drug dealers are convicted to 7 years in prison
SBU materials helped to convict members of ethnic drug cartel in Mykolaiv to 7 years and 3 months in prison.
SBU established that the group of four residents of the regional center was headed by a South Caucasus native. The criminals received highly dangerous opiates from several European countries via couriers, and sold the stuff on the territory of the region. They searched for customers through their contacts in criminal circles.
In addition, the group produced precursors for further sale in one of their member’s residences.
The law enforcement detained the whole group on trying to sell regular batch of drugs in the regional center.
During the searches of the criminals’ residences, the law enforcement seized almost 1 kilo of acetylated opium, over 2,5 kilos of acetic anhydride, huge amount of poppy straw extract and methadone.
The Korabelnyi District Court Of Mykolaiv City found all the members of the group guilty of illegal production, making and sale of narcotics committed by an organized group in especially gross amounts (P. 3 Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and illegal production, making and sale of precursors committed by an organized group in especially gross amounts (P. 3 Art. 311 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The criminals are currently serving in prison.
