The Main Department of Internal Security of SBU, jointly with investigative detectives of police under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Dnipropetrovsk region, exposed the organized group from Dnipro, which terrorized local businessmen.

To remind, the law enforcement stopped the activity of this group in September last year. The criminals, pretending to be SBU officers and representing themselves as “thieves in law”, extorted USD 300 and property documents from a businessman. They blackmailed businessman threatening his family.

The pre-trial investigation is over and the case is submitted to the court. The suspects’ acts are qualified under P.2 Art. 189, P.1 Art. 209 and P.1 Art.353 of the Criminal Code of Urkaine.

In case the guilty is proven, they may expect up to seven years of imprisonment.
