SBU prevents employment of Russian citizen to National Guard of Ukraine
SBU military CI exposed and prevented employment of Russian citizen to the National Guard special service unit, engaged in the Joint Forces Operation.
SBU operatives established, that a native of Slavutych City of Kyiv region received his secondary education in Russia, then he served in the Russian Army and actively participated in sabotage actions on the Caucasus territory. The suspect came to Kyiv to his relatives in 2014.
In January 2020 he addressed the National Guard, aiming to serve in one the special service units, engaged in the Joint Forces Operation.
The candidate knowingly did not submit information about having Russian ID. SBU employees also found out about candidate’s personal contacts with the representatives of Russian law enforcement authorities, including those, acting on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.
The involvement of the Russian citizen into Russian military intelligence network is being checked.
The operation was conducted jointly with the National Guard Headquarters.
