Kherson region: SBU exposes caches with trotyl since World War II
In the course of countering illegal arms trafficking, SBU officers detected in Kherson region two caches with military munitions manufactured in WWII days.
According to investigations, two residents of Kakhovka City, who are members of local military-patriotic clubs and involved in tomb raiding, have arranged illegal arsenals. The caches with weapons were set up in the same area in the forest belt near the inter-regional highway. Allegedly, the offenders stored the military munition for further resale.
Law enforcement officers seized 2 hand grenades, 17 mortar bombs including 13 kg of trotyl, 19 shelling and 6 fuses to them.
Currently the arsenals found have been neutralized.
Within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated under Part 1 Art.263 of the Criminal code of Ukraine, investigative actions are ongoing to establish all persons involved in illegal activities.
The operation was carried out jointly with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
