SBU documents large-scale misappropriation of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority top officials

SBU jointly with Prosecutor’s Office of Odesa region continue to document large-scale misappropriation of top officials of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) state enterprise.

SBU established that the top officials jointly with affiliated companies misappropriated the property of the state enterprise during three years. They, in particular, provided the territory of the ports for businessmen, who delivered and stored there the imported cars, at reduced tariffs and without any permits.

Allegedly, during 2017-2019 the state budget and USPA suffered almost UAH 5 million (USD 200,000) due to the illegal scheme.

The investigation upon the fact of abuse of authority or office (P. 2 Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is ongoing in order to establish all the circumstances of the case, and to bring to justice all the persons involved.

To remind, in 2019-2020 SBU exposed USPA top-officials on large-scale misappropriations, that could result in the bankruptcy of the state enterprise.
