Kherson region: SBU identifies agitprop spreading fakes regarding COVID-19
SBU exposed another agitprop who spread fakes about COVID-19, contributed to destabilization of the social environment in Kherson region and frightened people in this way.
Allegedly, a resident of Beryslav town was an administrator of several Internet communities in a banned social network (total number is almost 100,000 followers). It is previously established that the woman has contacts with “LNR” and “DNR” militants and coordinates her activity with the administrators of other separatist Internet communities. She called for to trespass against the constitution order and promoted the idea of so-called Novorossia in the Internet communities.
After the government took restrictive measures due to the epidemiological situation in the country, the offender set a new "trend" and started spreading COVID-19 fakes.
During the searches in the offender’s residence Law enforcement officers found computers and mobiles with data proving illegal activity. Criminal proceeding is initiated for trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.
Issue of serving a notice of suspicion is now being settled.
Pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
