Lviv region: Head of territorial community is accused of corruption
SBU investigation helped to serve a notice of suspicion of corruption to head of one of the territorial communities in Lviv region.
Allegedly, the official set up bribe-taking scheme from citizens for facilitating in illegal transfer of land to private ownership of the community. The attacker involved two mediators in the illegal activity. Moreover, one of them directly negotiated with interested parties.
SBU operatives established that the official, in particular, demanded USD 10,000 from a local resident on the allocation of a land plot (total area 0.4 ha).
To avoid disclosure, the offenders created a corruption scheme without presence. The "client" had to leave money in one of the suspect’s vehicle parked in a fixed location. Law enforcement officers documented all the facts of the crime.
Additionally, the documentation proving illicit activity was found during searches at the suspects’ place of work and residence.
Currently, the involved person has been served notice of suspicion under Part 3 Art.368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The exposing operation was conducted by the SBU Office in Lviv region operatives with the National Police investigators under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor's Office of Lviv region.
