SBU uncovers resident of Lviv city on spreading fakes about COVID-19
The SBU uncovered a resident of Lviv city that published fakes about COVID-19 statistics in Ukraine.
Cybersecurity officers established that the woman followed over 1,000 internet communities in blocked social networks and published misleading information about COVID-19. The offender tried to destabilize social environment and situation in the region.
During the searches at offender’s residence SBU officers found a computer, which the woman used for spreading fakes. She called for to trespass against the constitution order and promoted the idea of so-called Novorossia in the Internet.
Within the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers are checking the information about the possible coordination of agitprop by Russian special services and by terroristic organization “LNR” and “DNR”.
Investigation is ongoing within the criminal proceeding for actions aimed at forceful change or overthrow of the constitutional order and take-over of government and for trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.
Operation was conducted jointly with the operatives and investigators of the SBU Office in Lviv region under the legal supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv region.
