SBU exposed and stopped misappropriation of the state-owned enterprise “Kharkiv Electrical Engineering Plant”.

SBU operatives established that a director of a local business entity tried to blame state-owned enterprise for a debt. The offender provided misleading information about the alleged non-return of his property by the plant in order to adjudicate it as a debtor.

In fact, the property, which was allegedly stored by the state-owned enterprise, had already been sold by the offender.

As a result, court passed the sentence obliging the state enterprise to compensate UAH 2 million (USD 74,000) to the firm for the fake loss.

He immediately contacted the executive service for enforcement of the decision. Thereafter, the offender planned to bankrupt the state-owned enterprise. He wanted to appoint an insider as arbitration manager of the plant, and then sell the property of the state-owned enterprise at the cut price.

The offender received a notice of suspicion within the criminal proceeding initiated under P.2 of Art. 15 and P.4 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The type of detention is being chosen.

Operation was conducted jointly with the Slobidskiy unit of the Main National Police Department in Kharkiv region under the legal supervision of Kharkiv local Prosecutor’s Office no.5.
