Kyiv region: SBU exposes corrupt deputy chief of penal colony
SBU officers exposed deputy chief of penal colony in Kyiv region on systematic bribe-taking.
Allegedly, the official systematically demanded money from prisoners for bringing to the colony items, free circulation of which is forbidden by internal regulations of the institution, mobile phones, alcohol etc.
The law enforcement documented several facts when lieutenant colonel of internal service took bribe for forbidden “deliveries”. The suspect was detained when he received another bribe for transferring two mobile phones.
The issue of serving a notice of suspicion of committing the crime under Part 3 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and choosing a type of detention is being solved.
The operation was conducted jointly with Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigations in Kyiv under the supervision of regional Prosecutor’s Office with the assistance of the penal colony operatives.
