SBU detected in Poltava region the unlawful mechanism causing millions of state losses during the execution of repair works on the critical infrastructure facilities of the region.

Allegedly, the law enforcement established that the management of the commercial structure partially carried out construction works at the expense of the regional budget. The businessman prepared acts of provided services, with included misleading information about the overhaul of the Airport-Poltava building, some of which in fact were not even performed. The ex-officials of the Regional State Administration, acting in collusion with the merchant, confirmed and fully paid the sums required in the documents.

SBU operatives also documented the facts of violation tax legislation by the management of the commercial structure which led to tax evasion in especially large amounts.

The forensic construction and economical examination, as well as other evidences conclude that the state lost over UAH 5,800,000 (USD 214,815).

During the investigation, the offender was served a suspicion notice of committing crimes under Part 3 Art.190, Part 2 Art.212, Part 2 Art.366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

 The exposing operation was conducted under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Poltava region with assistance of the Poltava Regional State Administration.

Investigative actions are ongoing.
