SBU Scientific and Research Institute of Special Equipment and Forensic Expertise (ISTE) expanded the list of its specialties in conducting its expertise works.

The relevant decision improves functionality of the SBU in respect of objectivity and impartiality of investigations under jurisdiction of state security bodies.

The innovation expands authorities of the SBU expert units to conduct new types of forensic analysis, in particular, criminalistics and engineering-technical fields. There are 19 new additional specialties in the ISTE, six of which are unique among other forensic bodies.

The increase in professional capabilities of the SBU will enhance expert analysis in the operative and investigative units for effective addressing current challenges in national security.
