SBU in Kyiv detains trader of state bodies posts
The Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv detained a man who under the guise of “the Cabinet of Ministers official” offered employment in state bodies for particular sums of money.
SBU officers established that the suspect offered “facilitation” in appointment of candidates from Poltava and Kharkiv regions. Such “services” cost from USD 10,000 to 30,000 depending on the type of position.
Within the initiated criminal proceeding, SBU officers documented the fact when the “official” demanded USD 25,000 to appoint a candidate on the post of a chief of a department in the newly-created Ministry of agricultural-industrial development.
The law enforcement detained him in Kyiv on Instytutska Street when he received the whole sum of bribe. The searches are being conducted at the suspect’s car and place of residence. The officers have found applications of other candidates for appointment and car passes to the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers, the authenticity of which is being checked.
