SBU blocks network of cocaine sale in Kyiv city and region

SBU Main Directorate for Fighting Corruption and Organized Crime officers uncovered and blocked the network of cocaine sale in Kyiv city and region. 

The SBU officers established that a resident of Kyiv city arranged a scheme of wholesale and retail sale of cocaine to reliable clients. On average, he sold 1 g of the drug for USD 150.

SBU officers detained the dealer near his house with a pack of cocaine for another client according to Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

During the authorized searches at his place of residence and storing the drugs, the law enforcement found and seized over 700 g of cocaine, packing equipment, including electronic scales, zip lock bags etc. According to black market prices, the seized drugs valued at more than USD 100,000.

The issue of serving a suspect a notice of suspicion of the crime under Part 3 Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being decided.

The investigative (search) actions to identify and prosecute other involved individuals are ongoing.

The operation was conducted jointly with the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of National Police in Kyiv city.
