SBU suspects director of state-owned enterprise of National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of office abuse

In Cherkasy city, the SBU uncovered an office abuse by the director of state-owned enterprise, which belongs to the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences and is a critical infrastructure facility.

SBU operatives established that the official sold cereals avoiding the commodity exchange. He sold agricultural products to businessmen immediately after harvesting at cut prices.

Law enforcement documented that during 2017-2018 years the director concluded a number of illegal contracts for the sale of over 5,000 tons of grain to four private enterprises.

The damage caused by the official to Ukrainian economic interests tops UAH 1.2 million (circa USD 44,500).

The offender received a notice of suspicion of committing a crime within the criminal proceeding initiated for abuse of authority or office.

The operation was conducted jointly with the National Police under the legal supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Cherkasy region.
