SBU serves notice of suspicion to leader of “LNR” IAF involved in killing of SBU officers
The SBU investigators, involved in the JFO, in absentia served a notice of suspicion of committing a crime to the leader of “LNR” illegal armed formation under the legal supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Luhansk region.
The pre-trial investigation established that in April 2015, a resident of Yasynuvata town known as “Shumer” was appointed the leader of motor rifle battalion of the so-called "4th Separate motor rifle brigade of LNR People's Police". He assigned the tasks to the militants to shell the positions of the Armed Forces and Ukrainian law enforcement agencies in the Novoaydarskyi district in Luhansk region.
The SBU documented that in May 2018, at the behest of “Shumer”, the militants bombarded the ATO positions in the area of Zholobok settlement using firearms and automatic grenade launcher. During the shelling, two SBU officers were killed, another two - were injured.
The terrorist and his three subordinates received a notice of suspicion for committing a terrorist attack, and for creation of terrorist group or terrorist organization. The militants are on “wanted list”.
The urgent investigation is ongoing.
