Dnipropetrovsk region: SBU exposes member of village council on spreading separatist content
The Security Service of Ukraine exposed a head of a committee on budgetary issues of a village council in Dnipropetrovsk region on sharing separatist content in the network.
Allegedly, the member of village council, at the same time a head of a local public organization, popularized “L/DNR” terrorist organizations at his private accounts in social networks, including ones banned in Ukraine. He also spread fakes, defacing Ukrainian military units and law enforcement bodies, in particular, participants of the Joint Forces Operation.
The agitator used content from Russian and IAF outreach websites to conduct illicit activity.
The SBU officers established that agitator’s online “friends” included users linked with Russian special services and militants.
Within framework of previously initiated criminal proceeding under Article 436-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, law enforcement conducted searches at the suspect’s place of residence, where they found computers with evidence of his illicit activity.
The seized materials and equipment are directed for expertise.
The investigative actions to establish and prosecute other involved persons are ongoing.
