SBU exposes organized drug trafficking group
The Security Service of Ukraine blocked activities of an interregional criminal group specializing in the wholesale of drugs.
Allegedly, the group, which included the head of the first-aid post of one of the units of the National Guard and two of his accomplices from Kyiv and Kharkiv regions, sold marijuana in different regions of Ukraine.
The attackers looked for their clients through personal ties. Afterwards, the goods were sent to customers via postal service.
SBU operatives have documented the fact of drug trafficking in one of the cities of Kyiv region.
Consequently, law enforcement officers detained group members in accordance with Art.208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine on one of the streets of Lozova, Kharkiv region, during the sale of almost half a kilogram of cannabis.
The offenders were served suspicion notices of committing crimes stipulated by Part 3 Art.27, Part 3 Art.28 and Part 3 Art.307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of choosing a preventive measure is being decided.
The operation was carried out by the SBU Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime under the procedural supervision of the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Darnytsia Garrison of the Central Region of Ukraine.
