Donetsk region: two village councilors are accused of pseudo-referendum organization in 2014

SBU materials helped to serve notices of suspicion of committing crimes against national security of Ukraine to two councilors of Myronivskyi village.

Allegedly, the councilors took part in organization of the so-called “referendum on independence of DNR”. In particular, during the extraordinary session of the village council the suspect voted for holding the fake referendum, thus violating the law of Ukraine.

SBU investigators determined the actions of the village councilors as trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine (P. 1 Art. 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

To remind, previously SBU materials helped to sentence to six years of imprisonment one of the organizers of the pseudo-referendum in Donetsk region– the Head of Myronivskyi village council. Another four village councilors were served notices of suspicion.

The investigation is ongoing.

The operation was conducted under the supervision on the Prosecutor’s Office of Donetsk region.
