The Security Service of Ukraine stopped the illegal manufacture and sale of poor-quality antiseptic in Kyiv region.

Special service operatives established that a businessman from Cherkasy region set up a large-scale production of antiseptics in violation of all established sanitary standards for the manufacture of antiseptic and disinfectants.

Furthermore, the product samples have not been subject to mandatory safety checks and there is no evidence for the state registration of disinfectants of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. During the COVID-19, dubious antiseptic agents were sold in wholesale batches and retail in Ukraine.

Law enforcement officers found almost 40,000 liters of alcohol-containing substance, a batch of finished products and chemicals during authorized searches at the place of manufacture of antiseptics. The equipment and empty container were discovered as well.

Within the framework of the criminal proceedings stipulated by Art.204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine urgent investigative actions are underway.

The operation was carried out by the SBU Office in Cherkasy region under the legal supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Cherkasy region.
