SBU CI found and detained a foreigner internationally wanted by the Interpol.

The citizen of one of the Caucasus countries arrived to Ukraine in February 2020 in order to avoid criminal responsibility for the crimes related with assault on life. He conducted several armed assaults in Turkey, for which he may be sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment.

The detainee is allegedly a member of international criminal group controlled by one of the "thieves in law" of the Caucasian origin.

The SBU operatives detained the suspect at the place of his temporary residence in Khakriv.

The issue of extradition of the foreigner is being decided. At the same time, his possible involvement in committing serious crimes on the territory of Ukraine is also being checked.

The operation was conducted jointly with the National Police.
