Kropyvnytskyi city: SBU reveals ex-resident of temporarily occupied Sevastopol on illegal storage of weapons and explosives

The Security Service of Ukraine in Kropyvnytskyi city detected a cache with military munitions.

According to investigation, a previously convicted resident of Sevastopol City, who has lived in Kirovohrad region since 2015, stored weapons and ammo in his own house in the regional center. The munition was hidden in furniture among his personal belongings.

During searches at the suspect’s place of residence, the law enforcement seized an RPG-26 grenade launcher, a TNT block, eight F-1 grenades, RGD-5 and RG-42 hand grenades. Additionally, almost 50 rounds of various caliber and jet alarm cartridges were confiscated as well.

The perpetrator is detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of serving the offender a notice of suspicion and choosing custody as type of detention is being decided.

Within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated under Art.263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, urgent investigative actions to establish all the circumstances of the case and bring to criminal responsibility other persons involved in the crime are underway.

Information on the illegal supply of seized weapons from the JFO area is being checked.

The exposing operation was carried out jointly with the Regional Department of the National Police under legal supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
