SBU informs: Serviceman is convicted for selling "decommissioned" weapons and ammo in JFO area
A serviceman in Donetsk region, who was exposed by SBU officers on arms trafficking, was sentenced to 5 years and 3 months of imprisonment.
The pre-trial investigation established that the serviceman of one of the units located in the JFO area tried to sell allegedly “decommissioned” arms and rounds. SBU operatives documented two facts of the sale of a sniper rifle, the Kalashnikov gun and a machine gun with cartridges at UAH 50,000 (USD 1,852).
Consequently, law enforcement officers detained the attacker in February 2019 on another attempt of selling military munition.
During the search at the suspect’s place of residence, 4 more Kalashnikov guns were discovered.
Artemivsk City District Court found the detainee’s guilty of committing the crime stipulated by Part 3 Art.410 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
