The Security Service of Ukraine has blocked illegal activities of the deputy head of a unit of the Main Department of the State Fiscal Service in Dnipropetrovsk region and his subordinate, which caused losses to the state budget for hundreds of thousands of hryvnas.

Allegedly, during searches at the tobacco factory, officials deliberately provided false information in the records about the absence of violations of tax law. Thus, for a fee, the offenders "concealed" the company's failure to pay excise tax on cigarette production in 2018.

The state budget lost more than UAH 400,000 (USD 14,815).

Currently both attackers are suspected of malversation and official forgery (Part 2 Art.364 and Part 1 Art.366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Investigative actions to establish other alleged facts of the crime and to bring all involved persons to justice are underway.

The operation was conducted jointly with the Territorial Administration of the State Bureau of Investigation in Poltava city under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor's office of Dnipropetrovsk region.
