“As long as Ukraine continues to face the threat of a hybrid war, CI activities are one of the SBU top priorities,” stated the SBU Head Ivan Bakanov during his working visit to Zhytomyr region, where he met with the new managing director and personnel of the regional SBU Office.

“During the undeclared war, our major objectives are counterintelligence and protection of the national security of the state. We must be proactive, do everything possible to make each citizen of Ukraine feel safe,” - emphasized the SBU Head.

At the same time, he called for integrated action, as all service areas are important for achieving this goal.

Ivan Bakanov inspected the work of the Office, took note of the status of its activities and issues.

Alongside, the SBU Head reviewed the level of logistics of the Zhytomyr Regional Administration and operating conditions in it.

“The intelligence officer is a critical link in our work and his security is a daily focus of service management," Ivan Bakanov stressed.

We remind that on May13, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Serhii Lysak the head of the SBU Office in Zhytomyr region.
