The Security Service of Ukraine blocked the illegal alienation of property of a strategically important enterprise, which is managed by the State Reserve Agency.

The SBU established that the illegal scheme was developed by a private individual. Being informed about the initiated enforcement proceedings against the enterprise for non-payment of certain charges, he planned to sell the state-owned property complex using E-tendering.

According to the law that prohibits alienation of such facilities, the management of Lutsk state-owned enterprise officially blocked the tendering. For withdrawal of the letter, the suspect offered USD 10,000 to the management of the state-owned enterprise.

The law enforcement detained the suspect in Kyiv while handing part of the unlawful benefit in the amount of USD 5,000, in accordance with the Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The individual was served a notice of suspicion of committing a crime stipulated by Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Investigation is ongoing.
