Lviv region: SBU reveals corruption deputy of Drohobych City Council (video)

The Security Service of Ukraine exposed the deputy of Drohobych City Council on bribery for the allocation of a land plot.

The deputy, who is also head of the land commission, demanded money from local residents in the distribution and allocation of sites. SBU operatives, in particular, documented that the official estimated the land of 0.1 ha in Drohobych district at UAH 80,000 (USD 2,963). However, the owner of the household had the constitutional right to get the plot for free.

Consequently, the law enforcement officers detained the deputy on receiving the entire amount of the bribe. Investigations and searches at the suspect’s office are underway.

Within the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, other officials allegedly involved in illegal activities are being identified.

The operation was carried with the National Police investigators under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor 's Office of Lviv region.
