SBU systematically uncovers Russian agit-props
Over the past three months, the SBU cyber specialists identified 21 agit-props who implemented tasks assigned by Russian special services. They tried to destabilize situation and provoked panic in society.
In particular, such agitators were in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Lviv, Kherson, Poltava, Kropyvnytskyi, Konotop, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, Zhashkiv, Chernihiv cities and in the settlements located near contact line.
Thus, for the past week alone, the SBU operatives uncovered three Internet agitators in Donetsk, Odesa regions and in Chernihiv city. They regularly posted on social networks calls for violation of constitutional order and territorial integrity of Ukraine. The offenders were spreading propaganda about “L/DNR” terrorist organisations and implemented other tasks of Russian special services.
The criminal proceedings are initiated for actions aimed at trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, forceful change or overthrow of the constitutional order or take-over of government.
In general, during lockdown the SBU cyber specialists blocked more than 2,7 thousand Internet communities with over million followers, uncovered 393 agit-props that spread fakes about COVID-19 epidemics.
The SBU filed the information regarding 372 agit-props to the National Police. 173 persons were brought to administrative responsibility under the Art. 173-1 of the Code of Administrative Offences for spreading fakes that may cause panic or disturb public order. The operation and documentation of illegal activity was carried out by the SBU cyber specialists under the legal supervision of Prosecutor’s Offices.
