In Derhachiv district, the SBU uncovered a state registrar of the Village Council on fraud with municipal property.

SBU operatives established that the official in conspiracy with her accomplice, who is a local resident, helped to misappropriate communal property. Without necessary permission documents, the offender privatized communal facilities and re-registered it on proxy persons in Kharkiv city. The total area of premises is several hundred of square metres.

According to expertise, Kharkiv City Council suffered financial losses totalling almost UAH 1 million (USD 37,000) due to official’s illegal activities.

According to the SBU, the illegally expropriated communal property will be seized in order to start the procedure of returning it to municipal infrastructure.

Within the criminal proceeding the offender received a notice of suspicion of abuse of authority by persons who provide public services that caused grave consequences.

The accomplice received a notice of suspicion of a large-scale fraud and forgery of documents.

The operation was conducted jointly with the National Police investigators under the legal supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv region.
