SBU exposes SE Elektrotyazhmash Plant management on supplies to aggressor country

SBU exposed the management of the State Enterprise “Electrotyazhmash Plant" on the supplies of products to the aggressor country.

During the pre-trial investigation, special service officers documented that plant officials were transporting products to Russia under the guise of a contract with a European commercial entity. During 2019-2020, they concluded a number of knowingly loss-making contracts, according to which units and spare parts came to the largest manufacturer of mainline locomotives in Russia. Payments were made in Russian roubles.

According to experts, the state enterprise made losses of over UAH 15 million.  Based on the decision of the Ordzhonikidze District Court of Kharkiv, law enforcement officers searched the premises of the SE Electrovazhmash Plant and seized documents confirming the illegal activities of the company's management.

Two top managers of the were served suspicion notices of committing a criminal offence. One of them - under Part 2 Art. 367, another - under Part 4 Art.  191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The investigations are ongoing. The issue of choosing a preventive measure is being settled. The operation was conducted by the SBU Main Department for Fighting Corruption and Organized Crime officers under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv local Prosecutor’s Office №3.
