SBU documents corrupt manager of regional laboratory of State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection
The SBU documented that a manager of Kharkiv regional laboratory of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection extorted money from his subordinates.
Allegedly, an official monthly extorted from several employees UAH 60,000 (USD 2,220). For this sum, he promised his subordinates not to dismiss them and to avoid disciplinary action for fictitious accusations.
Law enforcement officers detained the offender in his office on receiving a monthly bribe. The SBU served a notice of suspicion of committing a crime stipulated by P.3 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
A type of detention is now being chosen.
The operation was conducted by the SBU Main Department for Fighting Corruption and Organized Crime, the SBU Office in Kharkiv region under the legal supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Kharkiv region.
