The SBU CI documented recruitment of a resident of Vinnytsia region by representatives of the so-called DNR Ministry of State Security.

Law enforcement established that the man visited his relatives who live on the temporary occupied territory of Donetsk region. While crossing a contact line, the man was unlawfully detained by representatives of the so-called DNR Ministry of State Security.

They delivered him to a special prison located in Donetsk. Using psychological pressure and tortures, militants coerced him into secret cooperation. “Supervisors” demanded to gather and transmit the information about Ukrainian strategic facilities, including its photos.

After coming to Ukraine-controlled territory, he contacted the SBU and provided detailed information about his recruitment and assigned tasks.

We recall that state treason and facilitation of the terrorist activity stipulates imprisonment for a term up to 15 years. At the same time, Ukrainian citizens who did not commit any criminal activity and voluntarily informed the authorities about their recruitment, are released from criminal responsibility.
