SBU conducts anti-terrorist drills in southern waters of Ukraine (video)
SBU CSO "A" conducted large-scale interregional anti-sabotage tactical and special trainings in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.
SBU units, including the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the National Police, the State Emergency Service, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the Maritime Search and Rescue Service, the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine, as well as representatives of local authorities took part in the events as close as possible to the actual situation.
The aim of the training was to improve the level of interdepartmental cooperation during the anti-terrorist operation on the transport infrastructure facilities of southern Ukraine.
According to the legend of the exercises, several conditional "subversive groups" tried to commit terrorist attacks on Odesa Sea Port and a state-owned enterprise. The "attackers" hijacked two cargo ships, one of which went to the Mykolaiv port of the state enterprise.
Another group of armed "terrorists" entered Odesa Sea Port and barricaded themselves in the administrative building. At the same time, the "saboteurs" took several hostages from the port management.
All participants gradually carried out cooperative efforts and assessed the effectiveness of forces and means to combat terrorism. The combined assault teams of special forces conducted a training operation to neutralize the saboteurs and release the "hostages".
The training identifies the security of enterprise facilities and provides clear guidance to its management on how to deal with alleged threats.
Regular exercises enable counter-terrorism entities to increase the effectiveness of joint efforts during relevant operations.
