The Security Service of Ukraine in Kharkiv region jointly with the PJSC Ukrnafta stopped and eliminated illegal channel to Koziivka-Syrodychi industrial oil pipeline.

 The operatives of the special service established the perpetrators damaged the pipeline and installed an unauthorized bend of almost a kilometer long for raw materials embezzlement.

The law enforcement documented the fact of misappropriation of 150-200 cubic meters of petroleum per month. As a result state-owned enterprise suffered losses amounting to more than UAH 2,000,000 (USD 71,429).

The experts concluded that the violation of the pipeline integrity posed risks to emergencies and damage to the regional ecology.

SBU Office in Kharkiv region helps to initiate the criminal proceedings under Part 1 Art.292 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

All persons involved in the construction of the illicit channel, as well as officials, allegedly shielding illegal business, are being identified.

The exposing operation was carried out jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Kharkiv region.
