SBU documents corrupt official of Ivan Bohun Kyiv Military Lyceum

The Security Service of Ukraine has documented one of the deputy chiefs of Ivan Bohun Kyiv Military Lyceum involved in taking a bribe for admission to an educational institution.

Allegedly, the official demanded USD 5,000 from a resident of the capital. The person “guaranteed” for the indicated amount the enrollment of her relative to study at the Lyceum.

The law enforcement officers detained the malefactor under Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine in his office while receiving a part of a bribe in the amount of USD 2,500.

Now the detainee is placed in the guardhouse of the Central Department of the Military Law-Enforcement Service (in Kyiv and Kyiv region). The issue of serving a notice of suspicion is under consideration.

The investigation is ongoing to identify other persons, possibly involved in illegal activities, within the framework of criminal proceedings on acceptance of an offer, promise, or reception of improper advantage by an official.

The exposure of the malefactor was carried out jointly with the investigators of the Pechersk Police Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv city under the procedural guidance of the Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Kyiv garrison.
